Overview¶
This guide will walk you through the assembly of an Umbilical.
Bending
Spring steel can snap rather easily when bending. Before bending, heat the area with a blow torch or lighter to a cherry (dull) red and let it cool. This helps make the steel more ductile and allows you to bend without snapping.

Assembly¶
Heat up spring steel and bend into shape shown below. The first bend should be done 12mm from the end and bent to 180 degrees. The second bend should be done 6mm from the bent end and bent to ~60 degrees.
